Thank you, thank you, thank you

My girlfriend Claire told me about a book she read where the author says: “I have two prayers.” One of them was “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
I’ve been saying that over and over the past few days.

There’s a swing on the front porch!
A few nights ago we found housing in Seattle. After our first “perfect” situation feel through, we were left treading water for a little over a week. The temporary housing availability in Seattle is little to none. But hoping to not sign a 6 month lease we kept our finger crossed- and the prayers ongoing- that something would surface. A few weeks ago we got a lead from UW temporary housing services that there was a woman who was looking to rent her house out for a few months. Long story short. . .
We got it! The house, a centenarian, is beautiful, the neighborhood is lovely, the location idealic, and the price- just right. Yes, it’s furnished, so we’ll have to store all our stuff, BUT the home owner is the sweetest woman you can imagine and we just feel immensely blessed.

Notice the piano!
We’re looking forward to trying out city living. I’m beyond jazzed that the house is 10 blocks from the water, and two blocks from two different play parks. It’s a 30 minute bike ride to work for Tom. We’re walking distance from the Fainting Goat Gelateria, the Boulangerie, and Pinkies Kitchen Food Truck! The Woodland Park Zoo is less than a mile away. More than anything I’m exstatic that we’re not in an apartment where every time Scotland says “jumping?!” I cringe. And everytime he runs around the house, I get nervous that I’m annoying the neighbors. I’m so happy I’ll have a big porch to plant some gorgeous pots- and hopefully the friend of the landlords that’s taken over her raised beds, will let me join in!

I’m in love!

  1. Wow! What a beautiful home!!! And a great location to boot! I hope you love the home and neighbors.

  2. Gosh Kjirsti, you know more about the city you don’t live in yet than I know about the city I do live in. Will you come to DFW sometime and give me a tour?
I’m so happy for you guys. So, so happy.

  3. Meg- it’s amazing what info you can find on google maps!
    Karen- are you a gardener?
Kira- come to Seattle and I’ll serve you lemonade on the swing!
    Thanks Katie and Natalie!
