Enjoy Cleveland Week

We’re down to 16 days. With all the “to-do’s” behind us, besides packing. We’re left with one “free” week. To reward ourselves for our proactive diligence we’ve dedicated this week: Enjoy Cleveland Week!

Reading time by the fire set the tone Saturday and Sunday night.
Monday we were thrilled to wake up to an absolutely stunning day. While Tom worked on his medical device, I spend every possible minute in the rarely-seen sunshine. I biked Scotland and his bud Cody to the playground for the first truly warm day of spring.

I don’t know what it is about being on a bike, perhaps that I do it so rarely, but it always makes me feel like: “Ah! now I’m living the life!”

The boys were SO happy to be outside, unencumbered by coats and hats. They swang for probably 30 minutes and complained when I suggested we try something else.

After our fill of slides, swings, dirt and twigs we rode back- home packed a picnic and headed to Lakeview Cemetary.

Somehow I managed to live in Cleveland for five years without visiting Wade Chapel, what a travesty- don’t do it!

The gorgeous Tiffany stain glass murals are spectacular. Saturated with color and symbolism they bear a beautiful message of Christ’s delivering power.

The center of the chapel features this stain glass window, portraying the Resurrection. It’s rare to see artistic renderings of the resurrection (at least from my limited art history background, crucifixions are the norm.)  Finally, here was a piece of art my heart could resonate with, here was a beautiful image of the Living Christ!

Spring is just barely errupting here, and I’m praying it pops before we leave. Cleveland is stunning in the spring.

Here’s hoping I get to see the Tulips bloom, that I planted last fall.
