Seattle!

Welcome back to the Cascades!

Yesterday, we trampsed around Seattle for a few hours seeing it with fresh and excited eyes- our new hometown! The Seattle airport is one of my favorite to fly into because of the views of the Cascades and specifically Mt. Rainer.

Mt. Rainer
We met our landlord, Laura and saw our summer residence. (Wow that sounds fancy.) Seeing it in person made me all the more excited for our summer stint in Wallingford. Talk about an idealic area! As we were walking towards one of the playgrounds we looked down a street to see several blocks in front of us the Seattle skyline with the water glistening in front of it. Despite our close proximity to the city, the neighborhood is cozy, quite and incredibly verdant! There are flowers and blooming trees everywhere.
I'd visited Seattle several times as a kid, but it was much different to see it as an adult. I was literally stunned by what a gorgeous city it is. There is water everywhere, boats and docks freckling the landscape, and a backdrop of snowcapped mountains. Seattle is a large city with plenty of concrete but it is balanced (and hid) by the verdant conditions. Trees, bushes, and vines grow everywhere. It seems a constant battle of man vs. nature.
Tom and I have always wanted to try living in a big city. Here's our chance, we're excited!
