For Family Home Evening on Monday, Tom and I went and picked out our first ‘real’ Christmas tree.
(Two years ago, we used a tree that we had cut out of our yard. It was your typical charlie Brown variety. You can see it here.) Needless to say this is a huge upgrade.
We were thrilled when we found this one lone white pine in the lot. I love how my crocheted snowflakes look against the dark green foliage.
Every year I buy a few Christmas decorations to add to our collection. This year I bought some fake poinsettias to add to the tree. I was given two bags of cinnamon scented pine cones last year, and I love the organic element they add.
I love a real Christmas tree. I love how it smells, how it looks, and how it feels. I’d rather have a real tree and no presents! Last year we bought battery operated candles as our Christmas decor addition. Every night at dusk I enjoy walking from window to window and turning them on. I feel like it’s my gift to the neighborhood- a way I can share holiday cheer with everyone that drives/walks past our house.
