Stream of conscience

If it’s snowing outside, should I take down my fall decor? Then why is Thanksgiving decor always based around fall leaves?

What’s the best way to clean hardwood floors?

Ever tried fried green tomatoes?

Is it best to clean one’s house on a schedule- or as it seems needful?

I’ve discovered the secret to fabulous tuna or chicken salad is the use of some kind of vinegar. (red wine, white wine, apple cider, or rice wine)

I just learned how to stop a caulk gun from oozing caulk. To my great delight.

(Paint) Brush cleaner is a fabulous thing.

Do you worry about cleaning solvents when your pregnant?

Is the government really doing as bad of a job as so many people think?

I really want to make a pumpkin pie with a gingersnap crust. But Tom doesn’t like pumpkin pie- if I make one, anyone want to come over and enjoy it with me?

I want to make some really healthy muffins- for those times when Tom and I are hungry, but not really in need of a meal, and not willing to splurge to many calories. Anyone have a good recipe full of health?

“Blink” is a fascinating book.

If it’s snowing on a Saturday, does that give me the right to snuggle in front of a fire and read a book all day?

We had our first fire on Wednesday.

Does a fire always leave your house smelling faintly of smoke for a few days/week?

“The Age of Innocence” is a terrific read/listen.

I can’t wait for Thanksgiving.

Okay. . . basta.. . enough. . . gottcha.

  1. This is my favorite post ever!
I’m leaving my fall stuff up for a while–I don’t have much in the way of decorations anyway and Nathan won’t let me put the Christmas stuff up until after Thanksgiving.
I bought some wood floor cleaner, but almost never use it has to be diluted and it makes so much. Let me know if you find something good!
Nathan has tried fried green tomatoes and didn’t like them.
I’m excited about trying chicken salad with vinegar!
I used cleaning stuff when I was pregnant. I wasn’t too worried, I just tried to be careful.
No one is every happy with the president, governor, etc. while they are in office. It is only years later that people look back on the time and can see it more objectively. In my opinion, he won’t be coming back for round two.
I will totally eat pie with you! And we can read next to a fire while eating it 🙂
We haven’t done a fire yet. I’m jealous that you have.
I’m excited for Thanksgiving, too! We’ll have Nathan’s parents here for it, so that brings a little stress to have a nicer one than I would do if it was just us, but oh well.
You and Tom should come over. We’ll eat pie and play games. You make the pumpkin pie and I’ll make a different pie! What does Tom like?

  2. I swear I have thoughts go through my head like this too. Unfortunately it seems to really happen when I wake up in the middle of the night and should be sleeping. I do have a great healthy muffin recipe for you–peanut butter muffins–they have carrots and bananas in there and you use whole wheat flour and Derek and kids eat them like they are full of chocolate.
I made some cheesecake bars last month that had a Biscoff crust which is similar in taste to gingersnaps and everyone was crazy for the taste–Biscoff is what you get when you fly Delta. However, I’m not a huge pumpkin pie fan myself. I’d rather have a pumpkin roll or pumpkin bread.
Send me an email about the recipe. I have to start a meeting. Love ya!
