One of the things I have loved more than anything else about being pregnant is seeing my dear husband. He is SOOO excited and loves our baby so much. Everyday he asks about the baby, hugs the baby, and talks about the baby. He excitedly comes with me to all my OB appointments and films the ultrasounds. He told everyone he talked to at the wedding last weekend that we were having a baby- even complete strangers. When I was struggling with a lot of nausea he would make sure the dishes were done ever night so I wouldn’t have to wake up to their smell and mess in the morning. He is very sensitive and attentive to my needs and didn’t complained when night after night I had no interest in dinner whatsoever. Ever since he found out I was pregnant he has been working long hours at work, and then at home. He’s made incredible progress at work, determined to get the bulk of his Phd completed before the baby comes so he can relax a bit and help out after. He’s going to be an amazing Dad.
We were both a little shocked yesterday when we found out that we most likely have a son coming our way. While it took me all day to change my frame of reference, Tom immediately started talking about the science experiments he would do with his son, and how wonderful it would be to have a boy to head up the family and be that protective older brother to the rest of our children. I love Tom so much, little did I know that having a baby would make me love him even more.

It seems to be the year of the boy this year. Your last sentence made me smile. So many people talk about how they never knew how much they could love someone until they held their baby for the first time, and then they just felt overwhelming love. When my daughter was born, it took a few days for that to sink in for me. In the meantime, however, I felt my love for my husband strengthen and grow rapidly.
So adorable! Are you home yet?!?! I’m dying to know all about it!
