Last Friday we drove down to Oberlin to visit our dear friend Mary. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of breakfast at Black River cafe, Talia had a violin lesson and then we visited a fun country bulk food store- Apple Hill and then went to Schoepfle gardens were the girls caught tadpoles and frogs and we all enjoyed the lovely gardens. It was a wonderful day and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Mary was impressed by Talia’s violin prowess. They worked for a full hour, and I was amazed at Talia’s focus and desire to learn and improve.
Going in for the catch
Here’s what they were after
Waterlillies with a tri-colored birch reflecting pink onto the water
By this point both girls had caught a frog- at least had part if its body in their hands. Tali caught one by the toe and yelled “look.” We shot our heads over and found a huge bull frog stretched out completely from one toe which was gripped tightly in her small hands. It was hilarious. Unfortunately in the time it took me to grab my camera it got away. Schucks.
Once they had scared all the frogs into the pond, they went after tadpoles.
Schoepfle has the largest tri-colored birch I have ever seen.
