Corn

Brecklyn and Talia, and all the Winder kids for that matter, love corn, specifically corn on the cob. So I bought some. Despite Brecklyn’s braces (and advice from her orthodontist that she not eat corn) and Talia’s lack of teeth, the girls both got inventive the other night in order to appease their desire to enjoy the great American past time. Brecklyn would shove the corn back into her mouth so as to use her molars, and Talia had to eat hers sort of cock-eyed so as to use the few teeth still remaining in her mouth- (with the majority of the corn falling out the front.) It was perhaps the most comedic evening of corning eating I have ever witnessed.

These strange eating habits are not reserved only for corn. I had forgotten that when a child eats chocolate chip banana bread, the chocolate ends up in the hair, on the face, and under the fingernails.
Meals are eaten with a fork in the right hand, with the left hand used to push the food on the fork? (Wait, why even use a fork?)
Needless to say, I am becoming reacquainted with childhood and its various oddities.

  1. i would like to acknowledge the state of cleanliness of which I am nestled in { not tali just me } I am of the highest standards and goals and am exceedingly neat and tidy in my actions and deeds the food is eaten with my pinky in the air and my fork in my food or my mouth never , never in a corn . …… ah, me, the idea of it all makes me shiver with dread! any kind of bread , especially ………. um , well lets take chocolate chip banana bread , { just a random pick } for example, is eaten with fork and knife, and the hair, fingernails and face are kept completely spotless and even after that are washed with a warm rag and of course i do it with out a grimace or a frown . you want to know about the pictures?
all staged, every single one. I am horrified at the realism of them they look so , well ……Real. but of course they aren’t .

  2. It looks like you are definitely keeping them entertained! We missed you at church this last week. I didn’t get the phone message until after church about covering on the piano-oops! Sorry! It looked like it wasn’t a problem though because Sister Hansen filled in. Hope your doing well! We still got to get together sometime and go thrift shopping! Yeah!
