Little Italy Art Walk

The girls and I went to the art walk together today and had a blast. After a fun though exhausting day at the beach yesterday we all had a slow morning. Breck and Tali spent most of the morning making an 8 foot chain of dandelions.

(Oh, and the other reason people were slow this morning was because the girls stayed up to who knows what hour braiding their hair.)

As part of the ArtFest they had a huge mural and let anyone who wanted paint a square. The kids were given something to copy. Ours was two gondolas.

Looks worthy of the modern art area of the museum to me!

Then the kids got their faces painted.

This resulted in a lot of attention for the rest of the day.

We saw several galleries full of paintings, got to watch a sculptor (who was flown in from Florence, I taught them how to say a few italian things to him, and then he made them both “toppolini,” little mice, out of his clay.)

We saw a lady dressed up for Carnivale with a mask and costume.
Now we’re off for gelato!

  4. That face paint is awesome! You said Kjirsti that a professional painted those two squares that the girls are posing in front of?

  5. You’re scoring points in the aunty department! What fun! You’ve given me seeds of ideas to plant into my sister’s minds. Looks like you sure know how to show them a fun time.
