Growth in February

Sure, it’s been gray in “the Ohio” these past few weeks, with lots of snowy days. Spring is no where in sight- but wait a minute. I’ve got growth all over! We at the Foutz Family abode like to keep the greens all year round! Enjoy. Happy February 17th!

The prime roses wilted enough times that I finally obeyed their wishes and transplanted them. They are much happier in this chipper red pot. To think i have never grown prime roses before. Talk about the perfect winter plant. They are bright, long lasting, and resilient. They were 79cents each at Home depot about a month and a half ago, and look at them- they still look brand new! Go ahead, buy yourself some!

(Also, take note of my new table runner. Yay for $7.00 at TJ maxx!)

This little bugger is taking her sweet time to bloom. I planted her before Christmas. I love how she is arched gracefully towards the window. One of the wonderful things about growing things from seed is you develop as strong a love for the greenery as you do for the flowers. Hence the exhausted paper white greens behind the amaryllis. Speaking of amaryllis, have any of you grown clivia?

  1. I have always put a pot of primroses outside the front door in memory of Mom. Thanks for reminding me. I’ll have to get some. I’m so enjoying watching your style and the mood of your home materialize.! I love it.

  2. If you want the amaryllis to bloom sooner, put it in a warm and sunny room: over 68 degrees. But, when it does bloom it will be shortlived unless you put it back into the coolness.
