It's one constant party around here!

To end the summer we invited Trevor and Lauren and their two boys up for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. Dallin has grown up so much. He is walking everywhere, it his very squat bow legged fashion; Bryce, while potty-trained, is still in the very needy transition period, where he still needs help getting on the toilet, wiping, and getting off, and sometimes just couching him along. All in all it means more time from Mom, and suddenly changing diapers doesn’t look so bad, but alas- sometimes it gets worse before it gets better! As seems to be the pattern I am going to tell our weekend through pictures.

Trevor and Lauren requested that I take some family pictures for them. I was flattered that two such fabulous photographers would ask such of me, and thrilled with the opportunity to practice my camera skills. Pictures are always rather tricky with young boys, but I think we got a few keepers. Which ones do you like best?

This one is a little blown out, but I love the shot from above.

This is perhaps my favorite. Isn’t it some how statuesque?

Duck feeding time

I’ve always had a thing for little boys in blue jeans!

It was Trev’s idea to crop this in such a way that the line of profiles emerges immediately from the side of the shot. I think it’s very affective.

Angelic Bryce

Bright eyed Dallin. I adore this shot. Is he not just the cutest little boy!

I love this shot of Lauren. She looks so powerful, so on top of it, not to mention gorgeous!

A little more artistic shot. We liked the angles in this picture.

Dallin got such a kick out of peaking through these pillars.

We had fun taking pictures with our adorable nephews too!

Besides taking pictures we also enjoyed various sundry activities like:
Visiting the Art Museum

Bryce pretending to be a knight!

I like how this shot captures the awe and wonder we all feel at art museums.

Fort building:

Our two adventures boys enjoying dried worms (aka golden raisins)

and Picnic-ing:

Dallin was teething and had been a bit whiny on Sunday as a result, but boy did he love these chilled watermelon balls!

Bryce loves playing outside. He particularly enjoys “rock climbing” we learned.

Not a great picture, but a fabulous expression! I couldn’t get enough of his squatting position.

  1. You took some great shots, lighting is so hard. He have a professional photographer in our ward that has studied with and shadowed some pretty famous photographers he is talking to the girls for mutual and I can’t decide if I should just give up $25 and find a sub for my last class and go or not. What do you think?
