New growth!

Everyday I walk around the yard looking for any new growth. This time of year things can pop up over night. This week was certainly one full of delights:

This was my biggest excitement today! I planted my peas too late, so I’ve been worried that we wouldn’t get any peas out of them, whcich is fine by me, because they have been so fun to watch grow. So you can imagine my surprise when I found four sweet pea blossoms this morning! Isn’t it dainty.

The peas aren’t the only ones in bloom. Our tomatoes are bursting with color!

Okay, so our peppers don’t have blooms but they are getting taller!

And look at the width of those eggplant leaves.
(I think I’ve decided growing vegetables from seed is the way too go. Then I can truly admire these weeks of produce-less green growth.

The bulb package I bought from Aldi showed all their bulbs blooming together, but that was not the case in Cleveland. These dwarf allium are just starting to bloom and their giant relatives are still “alien-like.”

The lady that lived here before us, must have loved roses because we have tons of them, and they are growing voraciously, since I pruned them way back. This is one of the smaller of the bushes. I can’t believe how perfectly these roses are growing- so symmetrical.

Our rhodies have experiences some disease issues but they still gave us a moderate bloom.

This is one of the perenialls I bought this year. The picture I just realized is quite washed out. It’s called molten lava due to it’s bright red and orange flowers.
