Ad the Grad, Ad's so Rad!

The boys and I got to go up and be with my sister for her HS graduation weekend. It was fun to spend time with her when she wasn’t so burdened down with assignments, applications, and extra-curricular activities. We enjoyed morning runs, leisurely lunches, and many late-night chats. I love Adalee, and admire her.

Class of 2014! (It just occurred to be that she graduated exactly 10 years after me, give or take a few days.)

Her determination and work ethic are admirable. Her dedication towards things she finds important, impressive. She set high goals for herself in HS and achieved them. She graduated with a great GPA and a scholarship to college. She received high honors in soccer and was clearly beloved in band. She’s strong, persistent, faithful, trustful, a great listener, and a dear aunt and sister. We love her.

I’m not sure who’s more tired, Anders or my Dad!

Adalee gave me her graduation rose. Which was so thoughtful. I forgot to bring it home. Sigh. I was looking forward to drying it and displaying it at home in memory of her. (I’m not sure what it is about this picture, perhaps my close proximity to this gorgeous teen or the flash, but when I saw it I though: Oh, I look old! As in, “I really am a woman in her late twenties. No high school, or college co-ed!” I guess that’s a good thing, considering I have two children!

Adee, I love you. Thanks for letting us be part of your special weekend!
