Tom and I have been so blessed with friends! It seems every weekend we have a chance to hang out with someone new. This weekend we enjoyed a wonderful Italian meal at Pizzazz with Adam and Jenn Burgoyne Saturday night. br /br /It was crazy how cast Saturday passed by. After a VERY full week of school and late rehearsals I was extatic for a free day. It’s funny how when you don’t have time, suddenly things like doing laundry, cleaning your kitchen and picking up your house become so enjoyable. I spent the morning doing such domestic things, and then we had an electrician (this time a very reputable registered electrician) come give us a bid on the rest of our electrical work. They are a couple, and the work together, Saturday however only Gerry, the wife came. She was a delightful person, and extraordinarily helpful. She stayed for two hours and talked us through exactly what still needed to be done, how it could be done, and what other steps we needed to take to make sure everything was up to code. I have to admit by the end of the two hours I neary broke down crying from all of the bad news. We already knew Charles had done a sloppy job but to hear thing after thing after thing that he had done wrong, was almost more than I could take. My poor house! While Gerry and Ray will be much more expensive, I think we will go with them so we can make sure this job ends up finished properly. br /br /Sunday we were treated to an Indian feast made by Bro. Gupta and his wife, Segil. We enjoyed visiting with them. They are a wonderful family. I am hoping Segil (sorry I know I’m spelling that wrong) and I can get together and have a cooking exchange. She wants to learn how to bake bread, and I would love to learn how to make Dal. Tom helped her study for Boards, which she hopes to take in February. It was a great review for him. She is very bright, and it was incredible to hear all she rememebered since she has been out of school for 20 years. br /br /The opera is going great. We have rehearsals about every other day. I’m excited to say I got a speaking line, and I have several “star” moments within the context of the choir! br /br /Singing is going great. Mr. Billions has been very “zealous” as he said, about making sure I don’t hold any tensions. I have started to be able to sense even the small movements that I make when I breath and start singing that are a result of tightening in my neck and mouth. I have found when I “let” them all go, the singing is easy and my high notes come out naturally. Mr. Billions always says, “It’s all about iletting/i-i /iletting go of any tensions or bad habits.” br /br /Seminary is going well. We love the teaching. It’s only the lack of sleep that is starting to wear us down a bit. If we were good and went to sleep early like we should. . . br /br /With that, I will listen to my own common sense and head to bed, alas if I get to bed in the next half an hour I’ll get 7 hours of sleep! Woohoo!br /br /br /
