Time is flying, and I wish I could say my projects have been similarly flying off my list. Tom and I took advantage of the long weekend to work on the house. We completed the sprinkler system. (Well except that we might add a few tiny sprayers for the front beds and perhaps a drip line along the garden.) The line that ran along the back of the house had to be completely replaced (luckily it was the easiest one to replace) due to some serious severs I inflicted on the tubing when digging out stumps with the pick ax last summer. Tom replaced several heads, added one, and got everything working as far as the electricity goes to the control box in the basement! Now we just need to program it.
Our big accomplishment came on Monday when we refinished the living room floor! It looks gorgeous and we have both been amazed at what an improvement it made. I have been waiting to do the floors for months. The way the floors were before, they always looked dirty, and as Megan said, in a state of renovation. Now, at least one of our rooms, looks clean and finished. Add baseboards and we’re going to have one gorgeous room! We ended up having to use oil based polyurethane which means we have had to stay of the floor for three days. But tomorrow evening we can put the furniture back on, and hopefully we’ll do the dining room and stair/hallway on Friday (and then leave for the weekend I guess.)
I patched and primed the vestibule over the week, I just need to caulk the corners and then it’s ready to paint! Should I paint it the same color as the living room/dining room, or should I be more creative and paint it with more of an accent? What do you think?
