So the house has been on the back burner for a while- which is evident from the lack of posts on this side of the blog. However, this week I did do a few things. I hung a couple frames and some other decorations. I also primed the half bath. We had a bunch of my CIM friends over on Friday night for a game night, which was enough incentive for me to hang a few frames- despite my concern over my aesthetic judgment.
My wonderful visiting teachers came over today. It had been a little while and since they had been at the house. It’s nice to have people who have seen it before come over and appreciate all of the changes. Thanks Kristi and Laura!
I discovered this week that the random smell that I often get a whiff of when I’m cleaning in the kitchen is coming from the counter top. I don’t know what it is but when I wash the counters they always give off this odd scent. Weird.
The house next door is definitely being gutted. Which is great news, because I assume that means it has been bought and is going to be fixed up. Which will help our home value, not to mention hopefully we’ll have a neighbor. (Though I have to admit it has been nice to know there is no one in that house, as our bedroom window faces it!)
My list for possible projects over spring break keeps getting longer and longer. I thought perhaps we should take a vote:
- Paint stairwell
- Paint half bath
- finish touching up kitchen cabinets
- finish wood floors throughout
- install baseboards
- tear out kitchen linoleum and tile
- paint bedroom
What’s your vote?
