- Tom and I removed the wallpaper and washed the walls in the stairs/hallway upstairs, as well as the front entrance. The walls look so fresh and clean, I can’t wait to paint.
- The bathroom is taped and ready to be primed.
- Charles got lights working in our kitchen. Now we can only hope the outlet to the fridge and stove will soon follow! Working with him has perhaps been the most frustrating experience of my life. Aspects of my character have arisen that I thought I had long since ridden myself of. [sigh]
- We bought a triple dresser on Craig’s list for our bedroom. We got a great deal, and it’s a beautiful solid maple dresser. Now Tom won’t have to store his clothes in boxes.
- Dee assured us, that though he will no longer work with Charles, he will willingly come back after Charles is “finished” to fix any drywall issues that we might have. What a saint. We love Dee.
- Our basil continues to be prolific.
- Our tomato plants are just starting to recover from the early blight that struck them so severely in July. If only we had a couple more months of sunshine we might actual have a harvest.
- The weeds grow great in Ohio.
- We have yet to mow our lawn. It has been so dry that our grass hasn’t really grown (if you can call our 60% weed lawn- grass) fortunately the last few days have been rainy, so hopefully that will perk everything up.
- Charles’ new drywaller Dave is about 7 feet tall. He is a teddy bear of a guy, and we really like him. It’s so funny to watch him because he literally just tilts his head back and raises his arms to work on the ceiling.
- Our roof is primarily finished. We’re going to have them come back and fix a few broken slate tiles that they missed. But other than that it looks great.
- Life is crazy.
