I wasn’t planning on planting carrots this year. I figured, they’re cheap, I’ll just buy them. When my dad gave me some free seed that he had harvested from his carrots, I couldn’t resist. I planted two rows up on a ledge. The soil was hard, and despite my efforts to work in some peat moss I figured they had little hope up there, but it was worth the try. To my surprise they came up nicely. The next question was would they be able to muscle their way through my clay soil. After several months I decide to harvest some today:
My very own baby carrots.
I’m debating- roast or stew?
