Growth while I was gone


I left for a two week vacation just after I had planted my garden and pots. I have to admit I was a bit nervous. However, I left all of my dear plants in the hands of my capable and willing husband who took care of them all with diligence. Thanks to a persistent waterer and some lovely weather my plants took off while I was gone, and some have literally tripled in size.

I was particularly shocked by the daisies. They are probably three feet tall!

Another fun suprise was my Clematis. I had purchased it on the discount/half dead rack last year and nursed it back to health. As a result I wasn’t sure what kind of clematis it would be. Imagine my delight when I saw this:

I nearly dug out the rose on the far right of this picture. It seemed wild and hardly bloomed last year, but I wondered if with some care and fertilizer it might improve. Boy, am I glad I didn’t remove it!

I have another climbing rose, that I have nearly removed the last few years but its sweet pale pink blooms always win me over no matter how unwieldy it is!
