Alium “Carnavale de nice” tulips

Daffodil Crocus
Today I was doing our weekly grocery shopping and was walking up to the check out lane when I saw it. A bag of 60 assorted bulbs for $8.99. It conatined small and large daffodils, crocus, two types of alium, and tulips. How I love Aldi! I bought a bag, which should beautifully accompany the bag of 60 tulip bulbs I bought from Costco a couple of weeks ago. I decided that it is probably wise that I make my spring garden absolutely exquisite, as it always seems so long in coming.
The tulips that I got from costco are the ones features above “Carnaval de Nice” coupled with some beatiful red ones. I can’t wait to plant them!

you are such a good gardener. I’m sure these flowers will look amazing come spring time! I need to plant more flowers at my own home…. I love flowers, and so does Kade. =) We have a bleeding heart plant outside that had the most beautiful flowers until his cousins taught him they could be picked. I got a few flowers a day as gifts, but the plant quickly lost all its blooms. Maybe I’ll do a bunch of hanging planters next year and keep them out of reach. Maybe that will bring me better luck! =)
Seems like a great deal. Can you take the seeds from those flowers pollinate them and use them for next year?
How I love spring! Good for you! I always hesitate a little buying spring bulbs cause I’ve already spent plenty during the growing season. Just remember to mark where you put them. I never do and then come spring time I want to plant other things and often get burned cause I’m not sure where to not plant. I’ve heard of people using popscicle sticks. Things like that never stay where I put them.
I’m sure your gardens will be stunning. Its great to hear that you are enjoying your program and achieving success. We can’t wait to see you guys this weekend!
