After necessarily over-extending ourselves financially during interview season, we’ve decided to dedicated February to frugality. I got really excited about the idea until I realized the the majority of our expenses are out of our control. We can’t forgo the health insurance that sinks us, or the taxes that strip us bare, but perhaps I can save a hundred dollars by forgoing unnecessaries. I figure it’s a good time to eat through our pantry and freezer- since we don’t want to move it all anyway. I’m hoping to be more creative with our date night/familiy fun activities. I’m going to avoid all shopping, least I succomb to impulse buys, and hopefully use those surges of “I need a new. . .” to create more new things from stuff I already have.
