Last night Tom and I were invited over to Marilyn and Jason Kiene’s house for dinner. We had a wonderful time, and really enjoyed the delicious food (cabbage rolls!), the great conversation, but most of all the much needed inspiration for our house. Marilyn and Jason bought a bank owned house a year ago and have spent the last year fixing it up. It was so nice to walk through their house and realize that a year could yield such beautiful results. (Guaranteed Marilyn is an incredible interior decorator, and more than willing to jump in and texture, paint, or refurbish.) I’m excited because she is coming over Wednesday to give me some ideas.
Her input was especially helpful because she has done her whole place quite cheaply. So she was able to show off her incredible curb and thrift store finds along with her ingenious ways to update cupboards and “tile” stairs.
