Home stuff

I have two realtors coming this week to give us a market analysis, and do a walk through. It’s made me see the house through their eyes and realize I really need to start checking off some of the projects we need to finish. But for some reason I just can’t get motivated to do them. It’s things like touching up paint here, patching a hole there, patching lots of drywall, painting closets, painting a few doors. . . I spent the morning edging the lawn instead. Tom’s in surgery and has been getting up around 4:00 every morning, so we’ve been going to bed early, and when he gets home he’s exhausted and just wants to chill- so that’s what we do. It seems all I want to do is read. Sigh. Any suggestions?!

  1. I think I can relate to this. I find that if there are a some things I really need to get done, but lack motivation, I need to allot the time to myself out of the house. Often even finding a babysitter, since husband is too wiped out/unavailable. Then I do MY thing. My thing can range from slow things like sleep, movies, or reading to exercise, girlfriends, or exploring a new hobby-mostly it needs to be out of routine/out of my home. I can come back home feeling like I’ve not been left to the house/family responsibilities all to myself with some extra energy to do those things. Or I just re-prioritize and say a good book is more important than a patch of paint for my sanity! Good luck my friend.
Also, you are getting ready to move? Will you be sad to say goodbye to your home. Oh, I think I shall call you. I’d love to hear how you are!
