A little time off

It has been wonderful to be done with school and to have time to work on several other projects. Mainly I have been working on keeping the house purchasing process rolling. Yes, the bank accepted our offer of $48,500 with 3% towards closing costs. We are really excited! I called around and interviewed some seven inspectors to find the best one- the winner is Steve. Tom said I was really giving them the third degree, and that I sounded like I was giving a job interview. However, one of the inspectors complimented me on my thorough coverage of the necessary questions to finding a good inspector! (I am very proud of myself as you can tell, because I am always a bit nervous about making those kinds of calls.) Tom has been working on finding the best loan- which has been a bit tricky since we are probably going to go with a 203k loan- a government loan in which money is included for repairs. There aren’t as many banks that offer this kind of loan. Yesterday Tom was on the phone for an hour with this loan officer asking and answering every question under the sun only to find out they didn’t offer 203k loans, even though their name had come up on the government site as being a bank that did. My next responsibility is to find a contractor who will come in and give us price estimates of everything that needs to be fixed- this is required for both the city and the loan officer.

I have also been spending time working the t-let website. We are in the process of merging onto a new server and website format. I would love any suggestions or even comments about how the website is working or not working on your computer. Every computer is different and it is hard to know what might not work on another’s computer. The website is now: gettisaccessories.com. (Also if you are interested in ordering send me an e-mail or leave a comment.) I have to say the t-lets are incredible. I have worn one almost everyday and I love them.

I went with Tom into Cleveland a couple of days ago. The intent was to help his friend Dave put his Sailboat in. Unfortunately they had lost the plug for the boat and so we weren’t able to put it in the water, however it was fun to see the boat Tom sails on as well as to be down on the Marina. We drove around Downtown for fun. I’ve included some pictures. Cleveland gets a really bad rap for being ugly, dirty, and undesirable. I think you will find from the included pictures that I just took driving around Town that Cleveland is a beautiful city with great potential!

This is the boat Tom sails on. His friend Dave is seen in the picture. (He is the older gentleman who came to my recital, for those of you who were there.)

I loved the contrast of the spherical building with the sharp angles of the square one.

There are several old churces strew among the skyscrapers of downtown. They give a sense of peace and seclusion.

I love the fresh green leaves against this white stone building.

Nice architecture!

Yesterday Ms. Mahy took all of her graduating students to one of the nicest restaurants in Cleveland: Pier W. The food was incredible. The restaurant literally hangs over a cliff overlooking Lake Erie, it is a beautiful site. It was fun to get all dressed up and go into town with the girls. Ms. Mahy gave us all a copy of “The Art of the Song Recital.”  A fabulous book that I am really looking forward to reading. Ms. Mahy is such an incredible person.   I am always so amazed by her dedication to her students.
