Happy Halloween!

I don’t have much time, so it’ll be mostly pictures this time.

Scotland’s been sick all week with a cold. Hence, the enthusiastic faces in these shots.

Fall continues to linger, and I’m loving it.

The City of Shaker Heights planted hundered of mums this year.

Scotter also cut his second top tooth. I figured the “slime” from his mouth was appropriate.

Our friends, the Madsen’s, threw an awesome Halloween party. We went with the family theme of “Princess and the Frog.” I have to admit to being a bit embarrassed about dressing up like a princess, especially since several people assumed I was dressed as Miss America. (ugh!) The highlight of the night, however, was when I got to talk to my sweet 5 year old friend Sage and say “We’re both princesses!”

Saturday morning I did a race downtown with these girls: Debbie, Cathy, Elyse, and Marilyn. It was a costumed race, so we went as the SuperMoms! The proceeds went toward Pro Bono work. I was surprised to feel a bit nervous when the race was about to start. Flash backs of Moses Lake Fun Runs filled my mind. Which was silly, considering I wasn’t planning on trying to place. I was more there to hang out with the girls. Debbie mentioned she loves running races because she finds seeing so many active and athletic people inspiring. I had to agree. It really made me want to take back my title as a runner. I was also surprised at how short and easy three miles felt- all thanks to my friend Claire. Claire and I have been running since the weather warmed up after having Scotland. She is completely to thank for getting me back in shape. We’re a great team because I push her to run faster (just because my strides are longer) and she pushes me to run farther, more like 4 or 5 miles. Our runs are often the highlight of my week. Claire, you’re the best.

Oh, and one more of our little frog!

  1. What a cut frog! I loved your themed family costumes. Fall looks beautiful there. I’m impressed with all your running.

  2. When I saw you at the Madsen’s party, I thought Tom looked like he was supposed to be a prince, so I assumed you guys were William and Kate. I didn’t understand why Scotland looked like dragon (which I now see is a frog), but figured it’s because the royals don’t have a baby yet. 🙂
