I wasn’t a fan of the strange red sign, so I removed it, and fixed the hanging sign (among a few other things):

Finally, I’ve done what I’ve been wanting to do for years:

Now, I’d like to replace the embarrassingly small welcome sign (but hey, it matches and is seasonal!), restain and poly our treshhold, and find a more welcoming rug. (Have any of you found a rug that actually works? I mean cleans people’s shoes? Or is that concept just a myth?) I suppose while I’m at it I should fix the large hole in the upper left side of the trim, oh and actually paint the trim, since it is currently just primed. And that’s only my front door! Sigh
