Cleveland Air Show

Yesterday, we decided to make the most of the last few weeks of summer and spend the day in the “feels like 100 heat” that was Cleveland, to enjoy the airshow. We met up with Steve, Mary and Lydia and had a wonderful time. The highlight of the afternoon was the Thunderbirds’ performance. The six pilots who flew were exceptional. Their patterns were smooth and seemingly effortless. I can’t imagine the kind of adrenaline that must accompany such an activity. I’m always amazed at how inspiring any activity is when seen at this level of excellence. I couldn’t help but wonder about the years of practice and training, the moments of frustration and defeat, surmounted by moments of pride and accomplishment. We can’t wait to go back next year when Scotland is more able to follow the planes.

Steve, Tom, Scotland, Lydia and Mary- mixing and mingling between the shows

While we all loved the show, the combination of heat and activity wore the little ones out.
