I’ve officially switched from “April Showers bring May flowers.” to “Rain Rain go away, Me and Scotter want to play!” I feel like this spring has been particularly rainy. Today I waited and waited for a chance to go outside with Scotland, but the gray persisted and the rain kept falling. So, we stayed inside, read books, took a nap together on the rocking chair, and did various household tasks. I enjoyed yoga from the warm and dryness of my basement- even though I’ve been itching to go on a long run. On the forecast for the next 10 days only one day doesn’t feature clouds. But hey, at least four suggest the sun might visit. With all this moisture, I’ve become obsessed with the idea of getting rain boots. I’ve never owned rain boots, so I’m not really sure where to start. So I’m seeking your advice.
Mainly I want boots that are:
- comfortable enough to wear all day
- flexible enough to wear while gardening
- classic enough to last me a long time
- but cute enough to not look manly
Any ideas?
Do you fork out the cash and get these tried and true- but expensive Hunters
Or go for these ones at Target that are cheaper, but most likely won’t last as long.
When are you saving money by buying something once that will last forever, instead of buying something cheaper that you will have to replace?
I LOVE these, but would I get sick of them? Would I feel like I couldn’t wear them with as much? Or would I just glory in their originality?
What say ye?

I looove the polka dot ones. I say pick them, pick them! You could so wear them all the time.
I love the polka dot ones, too!
Just my 2 cents…Being in the land of Hunters, and having tried them on, they are soooooo comfortable. They also make a huge variety of styles, different lengths, colors, etc., as I’m sure you know. I have wellies from Target, and frankly, they’re not all that comfortable, at least not for wearing all day. But they are a lot cheaper, it is true. I’ve found they’re not terribly well insulated, and have added Dr. Scholls inserts to make them a bit more comfortable as well. But they are colorful!
