Last year Tom bought me these “Orange Princess” tulips. They were a “Tuesday gift” – a “just because” gift. I’ve waited eagerly for them to come up all year. They were definitely worth the wait. I adore them! They are a shorter tulip, with a double bloom. There is a touch of purple in the veins. Their short thick stems have turned out to be a real blessing with all the windy weather we’ve been having. My taller tulips are getting misshapen, but these stocky beauties are doing just fine.
I love the way they meld with my yellow daffodils and taller red tulips. (Oh, how I wish I could afford a layer of rich mulch. Then these flowers would really pop!)
The last few days of warmth and sunshine have buoyed my spirits like no other. I feel invigorated and excited! Thankfully I have lots of time today to enjoy digging around in the dirt!

Gorgeous first picture!
I love these! I love new takes on classic flowers. It’s fun to see your garden just coming to life. I’m going to post some pictures of our backyard in just a bit.
Beautiful garden!
