Taking time to cherish

It was about a week before I realized that Scotland was loosing his hair on the top of his head. (P.S. It’s already growing back in nicely.)  I was sitting there nursing him and suddenly thought, “Wait! Didn’t he have thick hair on top too?!” A quick reference to an early picture affirmed my memory. Yesterday, I was caressing his little hand when I noticed his arms were completely smooth and free of hair. How in four weeks of caring for him had I never noticed that? Today, as I was looking at the four day old picture of him that graces my desktop, I realized why, because they haven’t been completely smooth for four weeks, they once were covered with hair. Oh how quickly babies change, and how much of their progress we can miss if we don’t take the time to cherish each development.

  1. Thanks for sharing the little moments you cherish with Scotland. Children do have so much joy and peace to share if we take the time to notice and appreciate.
