"I'm leaving today. . ."

So I guess by the clock I am officially leaving today for a week at home. I couldn’t be more excited. I think it was “Bridge to Taribithia” a movie that Tom and I just watched, and that I highly recommend to all you families with kids out there, or just those wanting to relive their childhood! There is a little girl in the movie that reminded me of Dantzel. It made me miss her so much. I can’t wait to watch Adee jump her horses, and to watch Devin’s basketball game. I can’t wait to stay up late talking to my Mom, and to laugh with my Dad.
Yesterday, my departure hit me and I felt sad knowing I was leaving Tom. I think in an attempt to make the absence easier on myself. I filled the fridge with leftovers so that even when I’m here physically he will still have a little warm reminder each night for dinner, that I love him and love taking care of him in my simple domestic ways!
I sang my first song in Russian tonight. A Tchaikovsky piece called “At the ball.” It is super romantic with tons of portamento and rubato. It was fun to sing in a tongue so foreign to my own. I love opening up new areas of interest and realizing how endless the chances for learning are.

  1. I wish I could have heard you sing in Russian! When I come to Oberlin, maybe I could bribe you into singing it for me. 🙂 Have so much fun at home! I’m glad you were able to get a ticket. Poor Tom.
